We have had our soft-top lean to screened in room now for 14 years and WOW. We are so impressed with it still and love our summer evenings bug free at the cottage. Last night our good friends, who come up every year for a week, were commenting how amazed they are that it has stood the test of time. EVEN the soft top Sunbrella roof!!
So for those that wonder if it will last, the answer is a resounding yes. We do remove and clean the roof and screens each fall when we close up and winterize.
Carriage House has been a great company to work with from the planning to the installation. Should you be considering a quality, screened in porch addition to your cottage or home, I only hope you find your joy like we have ours.
A year ago we saw this beautiful Carriage House room at the homeshow and had you duplicate it for us … we have been using it for a year now…our second summer… and it has been the best addition to our home and patio. We have had compliments galore regarding the workmanship. We would like to thank you again for the beautiful quality and attention to detail throughout our
transaction.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for the new room! We love it! Mark’s a great guy & Tony did an amazing job. We’re really pleased! We love the extra living space it’s given to our cottage.
Love the fabric we chose for the roof by the way. It blends really nicely with the trees.
Thanks again.
Just a note to say thank you for designing a fabulous Muskoka room. It has exceeded all of our expectations. The under eaves work is not only ingenious but totally water proof and fits right in.
Thanks to Tony for his installation expertise and creative work.
With this heat we are out there daily- morning and night.
If you need to show someone a sample of your work, here in Bala, don’t hesitate to call.
All the best
We love our screened room and have enjoyed many quiet moments just reading a book, watching a movie or listening to the birds as well as many dinners with our family and friends.
The screened room has opened up our house to the outdoors and provided us with another livingroom outside. Our grandkids love to come over and camp out overnight in the screened room where it is nice and cool during those hot summer nights.
Sally and Mark and the staff have been very helpful with all our questions and have replied to us very promptly and informatively in a very friendly manner. They were more than helpful with our modifications. We are still in awe at the workmanship and accuracy of the fit of the sunbrella top. We feel assured that they are there for us if we have any problems at all.
Our sales experience was friendly, very informative and enjoyable with no pressure to buy. The delivery was on time and the construction of the room was very professional and well constructed.
We look forward to enjoying many more years in our new room.
We would highly recommend Carriage House. We had a Haliburton Room built and attached to our home. It was in an awkward spot and also had to cover an existing hot tub.
Sally and Mark were very informative, and helped answer our questions. The Haliburton Room arrived at the appointed time, and we were amazed by the quick and skilful construction.
The room looked like it had always been part of our home. The canvas roof survived last year’s heavy snowfalls and has worked very well especially with the steam from the hot tub. We have enjoyed our bug-free room for entertaining and relaxing. Sally made window covers, which has enabled us to use our room all year round.
Should the opportunity arise we would certainly call Carriage House again for our construction needs.
But we have found the perfect solution; it is well named the Haliburton Room, designed and created by Mark and Sally Teasdel of Carriage House Custom Design.
This is much more than a gazebo. It is a unique, hand-crafted product of finest quality. Sturdy wood panels of durable, beautifully stained and naturally scented Western Red Cedar, and custom-fitted screen windows form the perimeter walls. These are mounted on a solid wooden base, securely fastened to our patio stones, and topped with an attractive Sunbrella fabric roof over a strong wooden frame.
The Haliburton Room has ample space for tables, chairs, patio lights, etc. Besides being completely serviceable, it looks very attractive, and is, for us – the perfect “summer house”. Almost maintenance-free, it easily withstands the rains and winds of a summer storm. And, as a bonus, it can be easily taken down and stored in sections for the winter, and re-assembled in the spring.
We have enjoyed our Haliburton Room so very much, and we look forward to the day when we can again step through the door – to enjoy the return of summer, in comfort, security and beauty.”
Mark came to our house in early July, and provided us with an estimate on the spot, which he stuck to throughout the process. He submitted our application to the Departmental Commitee of Adjustment, and gained approval and a building permit by mid-August, without significant involvement on our part. The submission involved minor variances which required a Commitee of Adjustment approval.
CHC began work in late August, and completed the project by the end of September, except for minor items. Throughout the construction period, I was most impressed by how clean & free of debris the site was maintained. We only visited on weekends, but the area was clean every time we arrived. I also was impressed by the process of pre-fabrication at CHC’s mill, where more fitting & joining was possible than if done on-site. This resulted in more efficient use of site time and in a very professional-looking final product.
Mark & Sally operated very professionally throughout the whole process, and I found them a pleasure to deal with. Their knowledge of the local suppliers and others in the Haliburton area has been a great advantage in making the project a success. Their willingness to be flexible, and to be helpful in collateral activities has been greatly appreciated
I would not hesitate in recommending Carriage House Contracting to anyone contemplating a cottage construction project.
